Clintonville Trucker wrestling team at the Shawano Holiday Classic Wrestling Tournament

Four Clintonville varsity wrestlers faced stiffer competition this past weekend at the Shawano Holiday Classic on Saturday, December 20. A very young team, with four freshmen and one new wrestler, Clintonville coaches decided to let those five gain experience and confidence by wrestling as junior varsity. Ben Cotherman (109) won all 3 of his matches. Baily Fields (138), Lacey Jung (145), Jason Bilek (160), and Trenton Niemczyk gained valuable mat time experience

On the varsity mats, it is difficult for a team fielding four wrestlers to garner as many points as teams that field ten to fourteen wrestlers. Cole Cotherman (120) went 3-2 on the day, taking 5th place. Tim Jerabek (138) finished 3-2 on the day, garnering a 4th place. Shayne Collar (160) wrestled tough on the day, posting 1-3 for 6th place. Chase Jung (195) posted a 2-3 record for 7th place.

Trucker wrestlers will next take the mat at the Kenosha Bradford High School Invitational on January 3, 2015.
