Additional Information: Crews were dispatched for a structure fire. Crews arrived on scene in 6 minutes and found flames on the exterior of the home. Units quickly extinguished the outside flames. A search of the home was done along with checking for fire extension into the walls of the home. Damage was limited to the exterior of the home with smoke damage throughout the home. The situation was mitigated by initial assignment crews. GBMFD was assisted by GBPD, Green Bay DPW, WPS.

Cause of Fire:  Probable spread from a wood burner

Additional Information:  Crews from the Green Bay Metro Fire Department were dispatched at 8:49 PM to a reported structure fire at 4040 Church Rd. Dispatch advised the caller was reporting smoke and flames from a shed behind a barn. En route assistance was requested from the New Franken Fire Department for water supply. Upon arrival crews found a one story greenhouse type structure fully involved and endangering an adjacent barn. The fire was quickly knocked down with very limited damage to the adjacent barn. The structure was currently being used as an art studio and was a total loss. The Bellevue Fire Department also assisted on the scene and GBPD provided traffic control. Crew remained on scene for approximately two hours to complete extinguishment and overhaul. Damage is estimated at $10,000. No injuries were reported.

Origin of Fire:  Exterior of home near chimney extending into the attic space and living room

Additional Information:  GBMFD units were dispatched to a structure fire and upon arrival found smoke and flames in the area of the exterior chimney with fire extending into attic and living room.  Crews quickly extinguished the exterior fire and had to cut holes into roof to extinguish the fire that had had spread into the attic space and living room  The GBMFD would like to remind all homeowners with the winter season coming upon us to have your chimney professionally cleaned and inspected.

Cause of Fire:  Unattended cooking.

Injuries: 13 year old transported to hospital for smoke inhalation.

Additional Information: Unattended grease on stove top caught fire spreading to wall and cabinets.  Occupants are staying with other family members in town.  With the holiday seasons approaching we want to remind people to pay close attention when they are cooking.  Cooking is the #1 cause of house fire and people should never leave cooking food unattended.  If you must leave the kitchen, turn off the stove.

Additional Information:  Fire in lower unit of house with 4 apartments.  Fire was found on stove and spread to the kitchen floor.  GBMFD quickly evacuated occupants of the other units, extinguished the fire and ventilated the smoke out of the building.  Cause is under investigation by GBMFD Fire Marshalls Office.

Cause of Fire: Under investigation by Fire Marshal’s Office

Origin of Fire: First floor men’s restroom

Estimated Dollar Loss: $100

Injuries: No reported injuries

Number of People Displaced: School evacuated for approximately one hour

Additional Information: GBMFD units were dispatched for a fire alarm sounding at Ann Sullivan Elementary School. En route reports were received of a fire in a men’s restroom. Fire Department units arrived within 5 minutes. The fire had been mostly extinguished by a building maintenance worker after being discovered by another school employee. All students and staff had safely evacuated the building prior to Fire Department arrival. Fire crews completed extinguishment, ventilated the building, monitored air quality and checked the remainder of the building for any other fires or fire spread. Fire damage limited to one stall in the men’s restroom and a garbage can. Smoke damage to the restroom and surrounding vestibule. Students were displaced for approximately one hour. School was back in normal operation after the incident with the exception of one restroom and surrounding vestibule. Investigators are continuing the investigation and will be interviewing a person of interest who is a student at the school.

Origin of Fire: Rear wall of a garage

Additional Information: GBMFD units were dispatched to 4xx Memory Ct. in the Village of Allouez for the report of a garage on fire. First units arrived in approximately 3 minutes. They found moderate smoke from the attached 2 stall garage and a neighbor applying water to the area with a garden hose. Crews stretched an attack line and had the fire extinguished in less than 5 minutes. Damage was limited to the rear of the garage. Brown County Sheriff’s Department and WPS assisted on the scene. American Red Cross was assisting the occupants.
