Wausau Structure Fire 10-3-17

Wausau Fire Crews were paged for a structure at 1021 Macintosh Street fire the call came in at 10:34AM Tuesday. Battalion Chief Allan Antolik said upon units arrival heavy fire was showing from the back of the structure. No Injuries were reported and the person home at the time of was able to exit safely . Wausau Fire Department was assisted by Wausau Police Department WPS was also on scene.

Grand Prix of Wisconsin 9-16-17 Wausau Wisconsin

Some of the fastest powerboat drivers in the world are racing on Lake Wausau this weekend in the Grand Prix of Wisconsin.

The championship races start at noon on Sunday, with the champion getting named at 5 p.m.

Vendor booths open at 8 a.m. both days. There will be food and drinks available for purchase.

2nd Annual First Responders Appreciation Block Party 9-9-17

Local Residence & Residence from Mountain Terrace Senior Living thanked Local First Responders and Law Enforcement at the 2nd Annual First Responders Appreciation Block Party hosted by Mountain Terrace Senior Living. Members of the Wausau Police Department, Wausau Fire Department, Marathon County Sheriff Department and Marathon County S.W.A.T. team were on hand showing equipment and letting people climb inside the vehicles. Around 300 hundred people attended this event.

Wausau House Fire 8-18-1

Wausau Fire Department was called for a reported upstairs apartment on fire at 406 7th  Street near the East Side of Wausau.

Flames could be seen coming out of an upstairs window. Animals needed to be rescued from the blaze unknown how many or the condition.  No injuries were reported.

No cause at this time Wausau Fire Marshall is being brought in.

2 Vehicle Accident 6th & Wausau Ave. 8-15-17

Rescue Crews were called to the scene of a two vehicle accident Tuesday Afternoon 6th and Wausau Ave.. Upon arrival units found one vehicle on its side. Bystanders at the scene say one person was loaded into an ambulance. No other information available at this time.

Dehumidifier Malfunction Causes Fire Response in Wausau 7-19-17

Wausau Fire Department was paged to a residents on North 9th Avenue. & Maple Street for a report of a house filled with smoke.

It was later determined that a dehumidifier malfunctioned and caused the smoke. Officials say they don’t believe there was any damage to the structure.

Wausau Fire Department Live Burn Training 7-17-17

Wausau Fire Department and SAFER conducted a Live Structure Fire Training Monday. The property is located at 120 S. 14th Ave. in Wausau near John Muir.

Battalion Chief Paul Czarapata with the Wausau Fire Department said the departments are training their newest recruits, explorers and we’re working with our neighboring fire district SAFER to work together on a combined basis.
