Wausau Warehouse Fire 12-5-17

Wausau Fire Crews Responded for a reported Fire around 6:00am Tuesday Morning at  Central Storage and Warehouse. The building is located on 1200 block of West Street.

Officials said there is concern about a building to the east because the facility stores hay.

Wausau Battalion Chief Paul Czarapata said: We have units going to cover that hay with tarps right now because if we get embers in there, we’ll have another giant building on fire.

The shape of the building is making it difficult to fight the fire.

Cold temperatures are making it hard to fight since the water will freeze and add slippery spots, officials said.

No one was inside when the fire happened and no one on scene was hurt.

Multiple departments are at the scene, including SAFER, Kronenwetter, Maine, Merrill Wausau.

West Street is closed between 17th Ave. and 10th Ave.
